34 WEEKS (36 WEEKS AFTER THE FIRST DAY OF THE LAST NORMAL MENSTRUAL PERIOD)
ALMOST FULLY DEVELOPED
The foetus is now nearly fully developed.
The body is more round and plump and the face is less wrinkled.
The lanugo, or hair, disappears from the face but remains on the head.
The foetus should now be in the correct position for birth.
Muscle tone has now developed, and the foetus can turn and lift its head.
Most babies born now will survive.
The foetus is 12 - 1/2 inches long and weighs 5 – 1/2 pounds.
